Brethren,

After our regularly scheduled business meeting on March 4, 2008 at 7:30 pm, we will have the pleasure of hearing Mrs. Amy Warner, Executive Director of The Carson Scholars Fund. She is preparing for us a power point presentation as well as a short DVD on the foundation's work. As many of you may know, this foundation was started by Dr. Ben Carson and his wife. Recognizing and rewarding academic excellence as well as humanitarian qualities in young children, The Carson Scholars Fund currently makes over 300 scholarship awards annually to young scholars from schools in Maryland and the surrounding area. Brother Louis F. Friedman, a Brother Mason and long-time legal council for Mt. Moriah Lodge, and his wife have been involved with the organization from its very inception. We currently sponsor 2 scholarships: one for Towson High School and one for Dulaney High School. Mrs. Warner will be accompanied by one of the Carson Scholars, who will also make a few comments to conclude the evening. Come and join us to see just one of the ways we, as a "benevolent organization", reach out to the community.

Join us for our regularly schedule Communication on March 18, 2008. We will have the first group of our Entered Apprentice Brothers standing proficiency catechism, followed by the conferral of the Fellow Craft degree on those found proficient. The remainder of our current Entered Apprentice catechism class will stand proficiency on April 1, 2008. Conferral of the Fellow Craft degree will follow on those found proficient. Note that the April 1 Stated Communication will have an early start at 7:00 pm.
