Annual Holiday Party
12/20/2011
6:00 PM-10:00 PM
As the holidays approach, our thoughts turn gratefully to those who have helped us progress through another successful year. We as Freemasons cherish the love and togetherness that the holidays bring. We extend our joy and sincere appreciation this year in welcoming brethren and their friends and family to our Annual Holiday Party…
The festivities will begin at 6pm on Tuesday, December 20th. For many families this is a busy and hectic month so for this reason, dress will be casual. Feel free to arrive and depart in whatever manner best fits your schedule. We will be providing a catered dinner, entertainment from the Joyous Voices, and a special guest who will be bringing gifts for children of all ages.
Please make reservations in advanced!
Brethren – This is an excellent opportunity to showcase our lodge to the public, so feel free to invite friends that may be interested in learning more about Freemasonry. Tours of the lodge and the history of Freemasonry will as always be available upon request!
If you plan to bring children, please note the age of the children in the comments section so that we can provide them with an age appropriate gift!

St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Posted in: Events, Past Events by webmaster on February 25, 2011 | No Comments
On Sunday, March 13, Mount Moriah Lodge #116 of Towson, MD, proudly represented Masons in Maryland by marching in the City of Baltimore’s 56th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Led by Worshipful Master Peter V. N. Bates, 20 members of Mount Moriah Lodge #116, including the line officers in full regalia, as well as Grand Inspector Drew Taylor, marched proudly in perfect formation from the Washington Monument in Mt. Vernon down Charles Street, continuing past the Inner Harbor on Pratt Street. The lodge was proudly announced twice as it paraded by and saluted reviewing stands on both Charles and Pratt Streets, and was greeted warmly with applause, pictures, and greetings from many of the parade onlookers, including many who identified themselves as fellow Masons.
Members of Mount Moriah Lodge #116 felt this was a great opportunity to spread the word of Masonry, especially as we are in the heart of the Grand Lodge’s media campaign. Arriving just in time for the parade was a brand-new lodge banner stating the lodge’s location, year of establishment, and website, flanked by colorful square and compasses. More than 20,000 revelers lined the sunny streets to view the parade and witness the lodge members, many of whom wore festive green bow ties, spread the word of brotherly love, relief, and truth. This event also provided members, including six of Mount Moriah’s Entered Apprentices, the opportunity for fellowship not only during the event itself, but through the planning and preparation process as well.
Although Mount Moriah had only a couple of months to plan its parade presence, lodge members feel that it was a highly successful experience. The lodge plans on making this an annual event, with this year’s participation offering the lodge valuable experience in planning for even greater involvement in next year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade, as well as in other parades throughout the community.
